9 Most Badass Elder Masters In Martial Arts Movies
6. Mori Tanaka - 3 Ninjas (1992)
You shouldn't play rough with your grandparents, that's one of the golden rules. However, training to be a shinobi is not mere child's play. During the first film of the 3 Ninjas franchise, we meet strict grandpa Tanaka and his three grandson pupils: Huey, Dewey and... I'm kidding, their ninja names are Rocky, Colt and Tum-Tum. Much more menacing, right?
Every summer, the boys visit grandpa Tanaka to further their instruction in the deadly art of Ninjutsu. That is until an unforeseen foe appears and puts the young ninja trio through unexpected perils. You see, their father is an FBI agent hot on the trail of international criminal Hugo Snyder, who is also an old enemy of ninja-master Tanaka. The boys assist grandpa when he is ambushed by Snyder's shinobi squad, an event that creates an irreparable rift between teacher and students. Except it is happily fixed just a few scenes later.
The boys are kidnapped by Snyder, who wishes for nothing more than a bloody match against Mori. It all seems lost, the enemy is too strong. That's when the wise master uses all the resources at his disposal to ensure victory. Oh sweet, SWEET victory. Wink, wink.
