7. Dexter Might Return

Dexter has now been gone for five years, now, and even the most ardent of fans will have difficulty hiding the fact that the finale left a LOT of bitter reactions around the world. It's safe to say that it was one of the most divisive last episodes ever as the serial killer simply faded into the distance after the death of his sister and his own faked demise.

Because he wasn't killed off - which would have been an even worse idea, frankly - the door has been open ever since for a revival of some description and now that Breaking Bad is coming back, the conversation has turned back to what Dexter might have done next.

Michael C Hall spoke to the Daily Beast on that front both to defend the ending (he would) and also to confirm that he'd come back if the idea was right. Interestingly, he also revealed that there have been possibilities over the years to bring the character back, but none of them "felt worth doing". He says there's still something potentially there, even if there are no concrete plans for now.

It's funny that he says both that he was happy with the ending and would come back though because that seems a fairly fundamental contradiction in terms. Still, if it means we get a more satisfying end-point, who's going to complain?
