4. Armie Hammer Vs The World

This week saw the tragic passing of Marvel legend Stan Lee at the age of 95 and inevitably social media turned into an extended celebration of his life, work and legacy with celebrities and comic book creators offering their tributes. It was all very heart-breaking and wonderful to behold, though Armie Hammer wasn't really into a lot of it, apparently. On the back of single-handedly reviving the peach industry off the back of Call Me By Your Name, Hammer did what any self-respecting influencer would do in the circumstances and told everyone how to grieve.

He's deleted the post now, but he tweeted “So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee… no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself.” And then as a follow-up, he posted: “If Stan impacted your life (ie. All of our lives) with his work, post his work that touched you the most. Posting a selfie makes his death about you and how cool you felt taking a picture with him.”

I mean, he's not entirely wrong, since so many people did do exactly that, but it's a little distasteful. And it brought him to the attention of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who appointed himself spokesman for everyone whose nose was put out by Hammer's comments and tweeted a (since-deleted) response:

“Looks like you found a way to use others ways of mourning and their memories to draw some attention to yourself. You sound like a real asshat.”

Touche, Winklevoss. Also, when Negan gets angry, it's best everyone just deletes all the tweets and pretends none of it happened.
