9 Movie Franchises That Literally Do The Same Thing Repeatedly

8. Feet - The Tarantinoverse

Bond Villain Scars
A Band Apart

Quentin Tarantino's style is certainly a distinctive one, and various cinematic and storytelling techniques are worn on his sleeve, such as his love for 1970s culture and inappropriate racial slurs. One motif we can't help but see over, and over, and over again is lingering shots of women's bare feet, which feature in just about every one of his works. It's no secret that Tarantino has a foot fetish - he's open about it and that's absolutely fine, but it just feels weirdly self-indulgent when he insists upon reminding the audience of it.

Tarantino's feet scenes aren't always unnecessary - an early moment in Kill Bill Vol. 1 has The Bride attempt to regain feeling and movement in her legs by telling herself to wiggle her big toe. It's artfully done and serves as a vital character moment - demonstrating The Bride's unwavering determination. It's when entire credits scenes are backed by a shot of a sexy pair of feet for no adequate reason that it gets tiresome. And then, of course, we have the scene in Tarantino-penned From Dusk Till Dawn in which his character Richie sloppily sucks on Salma Hayek's bourbon-soaked toes.

Let's not pretend he wasn't nursing a massive erection under that table.
