9 Movie Franchises That Trade Quality For Enjoyment

1. Star Wars

20th Century Fox20th Century FoxBest film: The Empire Strikes Back Most enjoyable: Return of the Jedi This one€™s a difficult one and depend on when you first saw the Star Wars. When you're 10 Return of the Jedi is the best. The opening scenes were exciting and the two final battles were spectacular. Even the Ewoks are cool. Lucus is on record as saying Jedi is €˜for the kids€™ (or more likely €˜for the toy makers€™) which is plain for all to see. Growing up the merits of Empire become clear. It€™s easily the best film, the best directed, best written and most complex of the three. Still, Return of the Jedi is so much more watchable. It€™s more playful, has a more satisfying ending and has better action. There are so many more memorable moments than Empire too. The rancor, Jabba€™s death, the hover bike chase, the space battle, €œIt€™s a trap!€, Luke versus Vader round two€ the list goes on. Do you agree? What movies do like in spite of their failures? Or do a film's failures ruin the experience?
