Between 1987 and 1991, TV cop shows were redefined when a fresh-faced Johnny Depp went back to school as part of the 21 Jump Street crew, investigating crimes in schools using a group of young-looking, naive officers.

Ultimately, Depp got annoyed with his teen idol label off the back of the show and quit before the start of the fifth and final season, but the show picked up lots of fans and went on to have cult appeal. That made it the perfect nostalgic property to reboot and 25 years after the original, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill took on the lead roles.

They join the revived 21 Jump Street programme, which should have been a hint of this being the same timeline, and even though it's a reboot of the show, original stars Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise show up for a third act, brief cameo as their original characters that sees them killed off.
