9 Movie Performances So Perfect They Survived Reboots

3. The Trickster - Mark Hamill

Shows: The Flash (twice)

When you hire Mark Hamill to play or voice a character, he has the annoying habit of being so brilliant that everyone wants him to continue doing so forever. There was no way anyone else could have been Luke Skywalker, for instance, and his take on the Joker is easily the most enduring from animation history.

To slightly less fanfare, Hamill also appeared as The Trickster in the 1990s TV adaptation of The Flash that people seem to regularly forget existed. But The CW didn't forget, because they cast the star of that show - John Wesley Shipp - as Henry Allen (as well as Jay Garrick later) and retroactively seemed to include it as part of their CW DC multiverse by incorporating images from it.

They also ported some characters over, including Vito D'Ambrosio's Mayor Anthony Bellows who was a police officer in the original show, and Amanda Pays' Dr Tina McGee among other side figures. More notably, they also brought Hamill back to portray The Trickster for the second time, using images from his appearances in the 1990 series for his police reports.
