2. Charlie - John Forsyth

Film-makers obviously really like the idea of Charlie's Angels, since they've now rebooted it for a second time (much to the delight of the bros who love a good movie gender swap). And there is absolutely something to be said for the magic of a mysterious benefactor who is never seen on-screen who sends his band of weaponised ladies out to fight injustice.

That unseen presence was originally played by the legendary John Forsythe whose rich voice seemed perfect for the millionaire backer of the team. It was so fitting, in fact, that when the time came to cast Charlie for the 2000 reboot of the franchise, McG turned back to Forsyth. Just as he always should have.
