9 Movie Performances So Perfect They Survived Reboots

1. J Jonah Jameson - JK Simmons

Movies: Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy & Spider-Man: Far From Home

For all of the great things that happen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, there is one moment more than any that will endure in the minds of the audience. It's not Peter and MJ’s conclusion or the reveal of Nick Fury’s plan at the end or even the Mysterio twist - it's the stunning and secret return of JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson.

Simmons was one of the best things about the Sam Raimi trilogy, fitting JJJ's brusque, aggressive character perfectly to the point that it was almost inconceivable that the Amazing Spider-Man reboot. So inconceivable that they simply didn’t do it.

In that respect it’s great to see him back for Far From Home. He’s playing a slightly different version of Jameson but it’s still him.
