9 Movie Sequels That Will Probably Be Announced Soon

8. Pirates Of The Caribbean 6

Though it wasn't as successful as the last three Pirates of the Caribbean movies, this past summer's Dead Men Tell No Tales nevertheless pulled in almost $800 million worldwide, proving that audiences en masse still can't get enough of Johnny Depp's boozy pirate shtick (for some reason).

Though pre-release marketing effectively touted the fifth film as the final entry into the series, anyone who's seen it (or simply anyone with a sense of how Hollywood works) will know that this isn't remotely the case in reality.

Disney was clearly just sitting on the fence and waiting to see how number five fared with audiences, and now that it's been a hit, it's just a matter of time before Disney confirms the sixth film for release in the early 2020s.

Sure, they'll probably knock the budget down a little this time, but at least they've got a compelling new female lead, in Kaya Scodelario's Carina Barbossa. Things could certainly be looking worse, as needless as more Pirates movies seems.
