9 Movie Sets Recycled In Other Movies

6. The Jungle Book Becomes Winnie The Pooh

It's not just live-action movies that have been known to recycle and reuse sets over the decades, for Disney has more often than not revisited backgrounds and animated movements seen in previous pictures.

Commonly known as rotoscoping, this is a technique that was majorly popular in some of Disney's earlier movies, and the simple reason for doing all of this came down to it being a big money saver for the House of Mouse.

One prime example of Disney recycling previous material, can be seen in 1977's The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. For those with a keen eye for detail, that Pooh outing sees several backgrounds that are revamped versions of locations seen in 1967's The Jungle Book - and likewise, the movement and positioning of characters in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh were beat-for-beat copies of The Jungle Book.

To give a little more information on rotoscoping, that process involves human actors playing out scenes and movement, with animators then tracing over the playback of these scenes in order to try and make a cartoon feature look more realistic and natural.

The next time you're watching a Disney classic, be sure to keep a keen eye on the backgrounds and movements - for chances are, they'll have been seen in a previous Disney offering.
