6. Mutt Williams - Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of Crystal Skulls
Nothing should be more of a concern to a movie hero than a headstrong sidekick who turns up out of the blue with a bad attitude and something to prove. It's a dangerous formula, as evidenced by Indy's illegitimate son Mutt. He's got more swagger than Marlon Brando himself, but he's keen to have you notice it, prone to ill-timed outbursts that are far more likely to draw unwanted attention from the bad guys than to impress. This came to a head upon his meeting with Indy in a local diner, where the two are confronted by a pair of KGB agents. The agents threaten them with a provocative "or else", to which Mutt smugly responds by pulling out his switchblade. Unfortunately the agents have guns. Nice one, kid. They were civilised until you did that. Mutt's problem is that his emotions are constantly at boiling point, perpetually in danger of tipping him over the edge in a stressful situation. Desperate to prove himself as a manly man, he rushes into battle with all guns blazing, only to lose his cool when encountering the likes of a scorpion or a decomposing corpse. Luckily, Dr. Jones seems more than aware that his young'un isn't ready to step into his shoes yet. When Mutt reaches for his old man's hat, it's snatched out of his hand. Good call, Indy.
