Live Free Or Die Hard, otherwise known by the marginally less embarrassing title Die Hard 4.0 internationally, was the then-weakest entry in the franchise, although positively looks like a masterpiece next to A Good Day To Die Hard. The film sees John McClane team up with computer hacker Matt Farrell, who is in the finished film played by Justin Long. However, had Bruce Willis got his way it would have been Affleck starring alongside him. Wanting to recreate the chemistry the two had in Armageddon, this choice would have likely strengthened the film's central relationship. Director Len Wiseman, however, was leaning towards his Underworld star Scott Speedman, although Long eventually won out. The film ends with Farrell getting it on with McClane's daughter. Played my Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who is thirteen years Affleck's junior, this could have looked more than a little weird. Maybe it's for the best he didn't appear.
