9 Movies From 2016 That Could Make A Billion Dollars
5. Finding Dory
Estimated Box Office Gross: $1.1 Billion A sequel to Finding Nemo? It's kind of a no-brainer, isn't it? Finding Nemo stands as one of Pixar's most profitable films ever; it's also one of the films in their masterful canon that plays a little more to children than grown-ups. It's a tad broader, a little more cutesy, and somewhat less experimental than efforts like WALL-E or The Incredibles. Not that that's a bad thing: Finding Nemo is also one of the funniest Pixar efforts to date, and should Finding Dory follow suit it's sure to match up to the original. Finding Dory is a movie that already knows it's going to make a killing at the box office, though. There's no doubt that this sequel will pull in any less than a billion dollars - and given that Finding Nemo pulled in a whopping $936 million, it seems dumb to suggest that this follow-up - long-awaited as it is - could do worse. Here's hoping that it's more Toy Story 3 than Cars 2, though; a genuine passion project that has been made with love, and not a product that exists as exactly that: a product.
