9 Movies That End Without Solving A Major Problem

1. What Happened To The List? - Skyfall

Wizard Of Oz Toto
Eon Productions

In all the excitement of the Skyfall finale, it’s easy to forget about the event that kicked off the film. The story has Bond chasing down a list containing the names of double agents embedded within terrorist groups; a list that would obviously be dangerous in the wrong hands.

The villain of the day Silva uploads some of this list online, leading to the capture and death of countless agents across the globe. This is part of Silva’s plan to disgrace M, and he does a bloody good job of it. Once he’s captured – on purpose, of course – this dangerous list subplot is promptly dropped.

It’s possible the list was found and secured, but since the movie doesn’t mention it one way or another it’s possible Silva sold it on. This would lead to mass death and lasting anger at Britain for allowing such sensitive information to leak, and, given the amount of times Bond fails in Skyfall - seriously, he prevents nothing here – this bleak outcome is entirely possible.

Can you think of any other movies that end without a serious problem being resolved? Name and shame them in the comments below.
