Time In Development Hell: 12 Years After Terminator 2: Judgment Day made an avalanche of money there was immediate interest in making a sequel. Cameron spoke about a third part numerous times, and even made a Terminator short film featuring Arnie and Linda Hamilton - for a theme park ride in Universal Studios. Cameron eventually lost interest and felt the story had wrapped up with T2, and for a time, Arnold refused to return without his old director involved. Cameron then advised Arnold to go for it and ask for a $30 million paycheck which he received. After a few years going through scripts, they finally wrote a half decent one, and the film came out in 2003. Worth The Wait?: Its the best non-Cameron Terminator, which is faint praise. Theres some good action and Arnie is still great, but the campy humour and toned down violence is a disappointment; it has a corker of an ending, though.
