6. Alien Vs. Predator
Time In Development Hell: 13 Years Predator 2 planted the seed of a possible crossover event between the Alien and Predator franchises, when Danny Glover discovers the skull of an Alien on a Predator trophy case. The studio got serious about it when they read a spec script in 1991, which was set in space and featured the beasts clashing on a distant planet; Harrison Ford was rumoured for the lead human role. One reason Sigourney Weaver insisted on dying in Alien 3 was the fear shed be roped into it, and the project kept hitting the wall for budget reasons. It was pushed back again for Alien: Resurrection, and a possible Alien 5 written by James Cameron and directed by Ridley Scott. They left when AVP was revived, and Paul W.S. Anderson was put on writer/director duties. The movie was finally unleashed in 2004. Worth The Wait?: Nah. It has its moments and there are nice easter eggs for the fans, but its a flat, bloodless affair most of the time. Its a masterpiece compared to the turgid sequel Requiem, though.
