9 Movies That Escaped Development Hell

5. Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

Time In Development Hell: 15 Years For a film that€™s not exactly adored, Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull took a while to come around. Despite initially being interested in making five Indiana Jones movies Spielberg, Lucas and Ford collectively decided to call it quits after The Last Crusade. However, when Ford shot his cameo for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles it inspired Lucas to think up a story. He decided that setting it in the fifties and having Indiana go up against communists and aliens was the way to go. Ford and Spielberg didn€™t like the idea at all, which didn€™t stop Lucas working on scripts. Initially titled Indiana Jones And The Saucer Men From Mars, even the early scripts contained elements that would make it into the movie, like killer ants and the infamous atomic blast. Spielberg got reenergized for another adventure in 2000, and writers like M. Night Shymalan and Frank Darabont worked on the script. The movie finally hit screens in 2008 to a €œmixed€ response. Worth The Wait?: Hahahaha! No. Even Spielberg and LaBeouf have attempted to that. Bad comedy, action, CGI and a terrible ending are some of the sins it commits; still, maybe Indiana Jones And The Rest Home In Atlanta will redeem the character.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
