9 Movies To Watch After You See Jordan Peele's Us
7. Dead Again
Kenneth Branagh is best known for his Shakespeare adaptations, but his oft-forgotten romantic supernatural thriller has earned a special place in his filmography. He plays a private detective who meets a woman who has lost her memory, played by Branagh's then-wife, Emma Thompson.
Through her nightmares, she learns that not only her and the detective romanced each other in a past life, but he may have killed her in that past life. Much like in Us, it is the sins of a past life's doppelganger that comes home to roost in the present day.
Not only do these movies share ideas of past lives and dopplegangers, but they both feature scissors as something to be feared as a deadly weapon. Remember how they used to say Jaws made people afraid to go to the beach? Well, watching Us and Dead Again back to back might make you think twice about picking up a pair of scissors for a while.
