9 Movies To Watch If You Loved Squid Game
1. Funhouse
We know that influencers aren't really real people, they're like a special kind of person that exist in the world of Instagram and TikTok live-streams! Well the ensemble of players in Funhouse's game thus offer us a different take on the 'strangers in a room' genre of horror that Squid Game and so many horror shows/movies before have given us.
Here our band of regular Joes are replaced with a group of self-absorbed, generally unlikeable influencers that we slowly begin to take pity on.
They come together in a mansion to take part in a Big Brother style show. They are constantly watched and their fates are left up to online voters, who choose which influencers they want to take part in a series of sadistic games.
Similar to Squid Game's first episode reveal, the players don't initially realise what they've gotten themselves in for. As innocuously-named games begin proving to be incredibly brutal, they come to terms with the situation they've landed in - but unlike after the game of Red Light, Green Light, there's no get-out clause for these influencers to enact.
If you want some more game-based trauma and another serving of satire then this one is for you, because similar to Squid Game's poignant social commentary, Funhouse has its own twisted tale to tell.
