9 Movies With Surprisingly Low Body Counts
7. First Blood (1 Death)
The first film appearance of John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) has a very low body count for someone whose name has become synonymous with carnage. Even the death itself is uncharacteristically bloodless: a man being dropped from a great height with an impact we don't see.
While there is some graphic violence in the film, First Blood ultimately focuses less on violence and more on character. Instead of fixating on Rambo’s big gun, it explores the big challenges he faces as a veteran of the Vietnam War struggling to adapt in a world that can’t seem to tolerate him.
As we all know, this movie spawned many Rambo sequels which would leave this more pacifistic angle far behind and instead boast death tolls in the dozens. It was good while it lasted.
