9 People You Won't Believe Actually Died Watching Famous Movies

3. A Retired Police Officer Shot A Man And His Wife For Texting During A Screening Of Lone Survivor

So we just shed a little light on what goes down in Latvia when people eat too loudly in cinemas, but what happens in the United States when somebody won't stop texting during a film? Are they asked to leave politely? Nope: the exact same thing, apparently. Yes, earlier this year, during a Florida screening of Mark Wahlberg war movie Lone Survivor, a retired police officer, Curtis Reeves, 71, shot Chad Oulson and his wife after a heated argument broke out involving texting. According to an eye witness, Reeves originally left the theatre to find a manager to resolve their issue - when he returned, somebody threw some popcorn (what's with the popcorn in these stories?), and shots were fired. Though Oulson's wife survived, Oulson's wounds were fatal. Does anybody see the irony of bringing a gun into a movie like Lone Survivor? What could have possibly peeved Reeves, a veteran, to such an extent that a shot a civilian? Insane.
