6. Watchmen (2009)
The song: 'Unforgettable' by Nat King Cole Like the fragrance of Ron Burgundy's apartment, Nat King Cole has a voice like rich mahogany. And, like a soothing swig of Ron Burgundy's scotch, that baritone always goes down smooth. So it's a surprise to hear it used as the soundtrack to a man's death. The Comedian ( Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is enjoying a classy night in at a hotel; he's got coffee, he's got porn, he's got a gun. But any plans for the evening will have to be put on hold as his door is suddenly smashed in and a shadowy figure is standing in his hallway. The TV is playing an advert for a perfume called Nostalgia (hence its use of 'Unforgettable') which, in the ensuing brawl, lends a certain elegance to the sight of a man being mercilessly beaten, thrown from wall to wall and, ultimately, defenestrated.
