9 Pointless Political Statements In Otherwise Awesome Movies

2. Abortion Is Wrong Because The Baby Might Become An Awesome Inventor One Day - Meet The Robinsons

Meet the Robinsons Meet the Robinsons is a sweetly affecting film from Disney, and easily one of their best in recent years, depicting a misfit child who fashions himself as an inventor, and at the end of the story manages to actually help both society and himself with his bright brain. More crucially, though, there's a curious pro-life message cutting through the whole film when you think about it; the protagonist, Lewis, spent his life in an orphanage, having been left there by his mother. His mother is depicted in flashbacks as a kind but downtrodden woman who couldn't care for him, and rather than just abort him, she gave birth and then brought him to the orphanage. As a result, Lewis went on to help fix some of society's ills with his inventions, something which would never have occurred had she just aborted him.
