9 Possible Characters Willem Dafoe Will Play In Justice League

What if Willem Dafoe's role in the Justice League isn't that of a current member or ancillary role, but instead that of the precursor to the Superman era? Why not bring in someone like Ted Kord - a whip smart scientist who took over the mantle of Blue Beetle from his archaeology teacher, Dan Garrett - to help fill in some of the years before Superman?

We know that heroes existed before the Kryptonian came crashing down to earth, even though they lacked the superpowers of the Justice League.

Besides, since this is Zack Snyder's version of gritty, the movie will need a few characters with a more realistic, scientific bent, and Kord's Blue Beetle could explain away some of those pesky, "over-the-top" moments that Snyder wants to tone down simply by referencing Kord's genius-level intellect.

Also, this movie is going to need a little bit of levity, and Kord's wry, wisecracking ways could bring back Boondock Saints-era Dafoe. And not for nothing, but if Blue Beetle is in, there's a decent chance Booster Gold could make an appearance as well, which would just be the cherry on top.
