9 Post-Credits Scenes That Were Axed From Movies

7. It: Chapter One

It Chapter 2 Beverly
Warner Bros.

Even though it's not the type of movie that needs an extra scene after the credits, It: Chapter One director Andy Muschietti originally had an idea to include one, a tease that would've led directly into recent sequel It: Chapter 2.

In a chat with The Huffington Post, Muschietti revealed that this scene would've focused on Beverly Marsh, played by Sophia Lillis in the first film, and Jessica Chastain in the second. The camera would've started on an iPhone ringing, which would then have been grabbed by adult Beverly, before a cut to black. However, Chastain's schedule didn't allow for the time to shoot the scene.

Interestingly, Muschietti's intention to feature this tag means that Chastain was cast in the role long before her involvement was officially announced in early 2018. Sure, it was heavily rumoured even before Chapter One opened, but this tells us that the actress was always Muschietti's primary choice for the role.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
