Paul Greengrass is back.

Matt Damon is back.

Jason Bourne IS BACK.

Cheers go up from the crowded streets as the fans rejoice. Shame it ultimately meant nothing.

Since Bourne swam away into the murk at the end of Ultimatum both Greengrass and Damon had stated time and again that they would only return to the franchise if they had the best story to tell. Surely this wasn't it. Surely. The story is like, the worst part, guys.

We still need Matt Damon of course, he is Jason Bourne, but Greengrass' most recent outing with the amnesiac assassin is all the evidence you need to see that perhaps someone knew is needed behind the camera and the script. Or, you know, at least get Tony Gilroy back.

In fact, that's a pretty easy fix, just bring back Tony Gilroy.
