4. Jack Frost (1997)
I remember catching this one way back in the day and I wasn't too impressed by it. Serial Killer - Jack Frost - is being transported to his execution in the week before Christmas. His truck conveniently crashes into a truck carrying genetic material of some sort and he genetically blends with the snow to become a killer snowman. He is out for revenge on the man who caught him. Often cited as a 'so bad it's good' movie, I would categorise it as a 'so bad it's bloody awful' film. I see no charm in the picture whatsoever. It is directed in a ham fisted way, the jokes aren't funny, the acting is woeful - ditto the special effects. It has, despite its profound ineptitude or maybe because of it, a large cult following who seem to love it. They argue that it is a silly idea - a killer Snowman, so you should enjoy it on a puerile level. I have watched more trash films than the average person, and there are 1000s out there that are better than this film. Snowmen were never less scary as in this film.
