9 Reasons An X-23 Movie Needs To Happen
2. It's The Easiest Way To Move The X-Men Timeline Forward
The main X-Men series is so obsessed with prequels and looking back to the past that the only way of truly moving the series into the future, short of another time-traveling disaster scenario, is to focus on Laura's story in the 2030s.
This would take it far away from X-Men: Supernova, which will be set sometime in the 1990s, and essentially allow it to exist as its own sub-franchise under the X-Men umbrella, which is absolutely preferential to attempting to tie the two together, considering how drastically they differ tonally.
Fans are craving more contemporary, current X-Men movies, and this is as easy a way to get there as possible right now.
