9 Reasons DC TV Shows Are Better Than The Movies

1. The Universe Is Well-Established

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had one big purpose: to kick-start the DCEU. It ended up a bloated mess, and approaching Justice League the shared universe aspect isn't really any better off, especially with so much doubt over most future movies. They don't fully seem to know what they want even at this point, with some films - like the Joker origin story - existing outside of the universe.

For the TV shows, however, everything is there, and it largely started quite naturally. Barry Allen was just briefly introduced in Arrow, then had his own great show, and all of a sudden you've got a burgeoning shared universe on TV. The Legends of Tomorrow setup was a little more iffy, since it took up too much of both those other shows, but it's still better than the packed way Batman v Superman attempted it. Bringing Supergirl into this world took almost no effort either (save for a move to The CW), thanks to the multiverse, and the universe is very firmly established and ready to keep on expanding as they see fit, while the DCEU is still struggling to properly get going.
