3. Sabretooth
Retarded: Sabretooth is portrayed in the inaugural superhero flick, 2000's X-Men, by Tyler Mane, a former professional wrestler who was cast more for his imposing physical presence than his ability to emote and act. Though his strength should have proven him a mighty foe for Wolverine, he winds up being a bit inconsequential, and Cyclops ends up blasting him from atop the Statue of Liberty onto a passing boat below.
Reimagined: Though you'll struggle to find many supporters of the film outright, one of X-Men Origins: Wolverine's few meritorious aspects - alongside Hugh Jackman's reliable performance in the lead role - is Liev Schreiber's performance as Logan's brother, Sabretooth. Though he has to contend with some cheesy dialogues, Schreiber imbues the role with a wealth more insanity, charm and charisma, making him a far more dangerous and sinister hunter as a result. Schreiber has mastered the crazed grin, and while he's not given a whole lot to do, he certainly makes his best effort with it, far in excess of Mane's forgettable approach.
