9 Sci-Fi Movie Villains Who Were Actually RIGHT

4. Syndrome - The Incredibles

Imagine being super-intelligent. Imagine you're such an incredible engineer that as a child, you're able to invent your own rocket boots so that you can fight crime alongside your idol, a world-renowned superhero.

Then imagine that your hero rejects you publicly, tells you to go home, and that you don't belong at his side. Pretty crushing, right?

Well, Syndrome knows that pain all too well. All he really wanted was to be a hero, and the person he looked up to most stomped on his dreams and sent him on his merry way, warping his worldview a little in the process.

Syndrome's plan to release a robot on a major city just to stop it and finally live his dream of being recognised as a hero is misguided and dangerous, but it isn't inherently evil.

No child deserves to be pushed aside like he was, let alone one with his talents. Mr. Incredible didn't have to take him on as a sidekick then and there, but showing some kindness to a boy who just wanted to be like him wouldn't have taken much effort.

The resulting trauma is likely what led the boy onto the insane path we see him on - and while he's certainly the movie's villain, we can all feel his pain a little too keenly.
