If there is one consistent fault with almost all Marvel movies, it's that the villains do not live up to the heroes. Outside of Loki and Bucky, truly convincing, menacing foes who'd be capable of taking down even one Avenger have been few and far between. Ultron was supposed to be a major step-up from that, one that requires all of the Avengers to come together to defeat, and even that would be at a cost. Sadly, despite the best efforts of James Spader's vocal talents, that really never came across on screen. His quips are pretty funny, but given he's supposed to be an all-powerful AI, with access to the entirety of the Internet and the ability to self-replicate, his plans don't seem all that great, and he doesn't feel like too much of a threat, especially not to a full team of Avengers. He'd work in, say, an Iron Man film, but not for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. What did you think of Avengers: Age Of Ultron? Did it disappoint you, or did the movie live up to the hype? NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
