9 Simple Fixes That Would Have Saved Avengers: Age Of Ultron
9. Don't Rush The Opening
Age Of Ultron opened things up in bombastic fashion, as the Avengers are in the middle of launching a raid on a Hydra base in Sokovia in order to get their hands on Loki's sceptre. It's a thrilling action sequence, showcasing the powers of all of the heroes, but there's not an awful lot done to explain exactly what's going on. You're simply thrown into the middle of it, and then when Tony is actually inside the castle, it's unclear why finding the sceptre is so important, and what exactly the new characters are about. The result is that it all feels rather rushed, which is a shame because there are some genuinely excellent moments here that could've made this a really great opening sequence. The decision to burn through this intro so quickly is especially baffling when you consider how the film slows things down, for better or worse, elsewhere in its running time, and it could've done with taking a little more time with this one as well.
