9 Smartest Decisions In Action Movie History

6. Speed - Replaying Footage While Passengers Debarked

You know what's a bad decision? Taking a blockbuster film about a bomb being on a bus that can't go slower than 50 miles per hour and setting the sequel on a boat, then naming it after a feature that boats generally don't have - Cruise Control. But if you ignore the horrible sequel, you can enjoy the tense action of a movie with a surprisingly simple premise. You see, there's a bomb on a bus and it will explode if anyone gets off or the bus slows down. See? Simple.

The tension comes from the fact that the crazed bomber, a former bomb-disposal police officer played by the late Dennis Hopper, is always one step ahead of the police officers out to get him, played by Keanu Reeves and Ted Daniels. And, sure enough, in a surprising scene midway through the second act, Hopper's villain gets the better of Daniels.

Here's where the going gets really good, though. Reeve's heroic cop, Jack Traven, realizes that the bomber is watching them via a live-feed camera. Reeves develops a brilliant plan to have the camera footage recorded and then reshown to trick the bomber into thinking he's still watching it live. While the bomber is tricked by the maneuver, Traven gets almost everyone off the bus, safely.
