9 Superheroes Who Really Should Have Had A Movie By Now

8. Black Panther (Marvel Comics)

Black Panther is a staple member of the Avengers and has been in and around the superhero team since 1968. But it isn't only his long-standing relationship with the existing on-screen team in the comic books that mean he should already have had his own movie by now. The potential Black Panther movie has been touted for many years and we've been teased with it for too long now. Wesley Snipes first expressed an interest in making a film about the character way back in 1992 - 22 years ago - and the movie has been discussed as potentially being made ever since. Snipes was close to making it in 2003, when it was a choice between a Black Panther movie and a third Blade movie - Snipes obviously decided on the latter in the end. A number of directors, including John Singleton, have been touted as taking control of the movie since, but nothing came in to fruition. It has really gained traction since the inception of the Marvel cinematic universe and, in particular, since a map in the background in Iron Man 2 showed a highlighted location in Africa - which director Jon Favreau said was meant as an explicit reference to Black Panther and his home country of Wakanda. A number of actors, including Djimon Hounsou and Anthony Mackie (who, of course, is now playing Falcon) have been linked to the role and it is strongly predicted that a Black Panther movie will happen sooner rather than later, but it really should have already been made by now.
