Played By: Tye Sheridan, Tim Pocock, James Marsden

In the original X-Men trilogy, it's hard to imagine anyone other than James Marsden playing Scott Summers, aka Cyclops. He had the look on lockdown, he played off of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine wonderfully, and he really came off as the leader the character is in the comics. Sure, The Last Stand unceremoniously tossed him aside, but at least we got Days of Future Past to undo that.

In spite of how utterly atrocious X-Men Origins: Wolverine is, Tim Pocock was actually a solid choice for Scott as well. His acting was decent enough, he could bring the fire when he needed to, and if nothing else, he really did look the part. In fact, had he simply been cast in a better movie, Pocock could have made a legitimately great Cyclops. Unfortunately, that potential was never realized.

Finally, Tye Sheridan portrayed a young Cyclops in the unfairly-hated X-Men: Apocalypse. Yes, he could be a bit inconsistent, but his overall performance was still solid. He did a convincing job portraying a younger, more naive version of the character, and he gelled very well with his co-stars.

Who Did It Best: James Marsden runs away with this one. Sheridan did a good job at playing Scott Summers in his formative years, and Pocock did the best he could with the nonsensical script he had to work with. However, the thing to remember is that, first and foremost, Cyclops is a leader. And no one nailed that aspect better than Marsden.
