9 Superheroes Who Have Been Played By Three Or More Actors (And Who Did It Best)

6. Catwoman

Every Catwoman
Warner Bros.

Played By: Camren Bicondova, Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eartha Kitt, Lee Meriwether, Julie Newmar

While she started off as a villain, Catwoman has become one of DC's most prominent anti-heroes. And the first woman to don Selina Kyle's catsuit was the great Julie Newmar. What's more is that despite how the '60s Batman show has aged, her performance (mostly) holds up. Lee Meriwether and Eartha Kitt were great '60s Catwomen in their own right, but Newmar was the innovator.

However, Catwoman arguably didn't hit her peak until 1992's Batman Returns, when Michelle Pfeiffer brought a delightfully dark version of the character to the big screen. This Catwoman carried a good portion of the film on her own, had a wonderfully unhinged personality, and was portrayed by Pfeiffer flawlessly. Selina Kyle would return to the world of film in The Dark Knight Rises, and while Anne Hathaway was decent in the role, she didn't hold a candle to Pfeiffer.

The only truly awful iteration of Catwoman is Halle Berry's from the character's 2004 solo movie, the less said about which, the better. In addition, while Gotham has had its highs and lows, Camren Bicondova does a solid job as young Selina Kyle, keeping the character's great TV track record alive.

Who Did It Best: Michelle Pfeiffer was simply perfect as Catwoman in Batman Returns, and you can't top perfection. However, it's worth mentioning that Julie Newmar holds a solid second place.
