9 Teen Horror Movies That Are Actually Quite Scary

6. Slenderman

Based on the 'urban legend' stories and popular game, Slender Man the movie came out in 2018, as school friends decide to look in to the dark folk lore on the internet. Things get quickly out of hand when they release that the spirit creature they have heard about is real, and the cursed videos they watch cause them to disappear - basically the plot of The Ring.

If you can watch past the cringey acting, then the scares and overall cinematography of this movie create some quite spooky moments. Bearing in mind, this all happens in the third act and not much of the Slenderman is seen at all, which is disappointing for those who grew up with the hide-behind-your-eyes PC game and creepypasta articles.

Audiences will watch in anticipation to see the voiceless man in the suit, however the slow build up ultimately doesn't totally pay off in many regards. Watch for the nostalgia, though, and maybe you'll jump a few times in the process.
