But then we discovered that there was a secret history of extras failing to convincingly perform simple everyday tasks, such as not walking into doorframes, or eating convincingly. Their actions, whether conscious or otherwise, stole focus and ruined their scenes. Over time, standards seem to have slipped and the useless, destructive extra is more commonplace than ever before; attempting to steal focus and upstage the main cast.
