9 Things Spectre Needs To Satisfy Diehard Bond Fans

1. Ernst Stavro Blofeld

Holmes has Moriarty, Superman has Lex Luthor, Batman has the Joker, and Bond has Ernst Blofeld. As the head of Spectre, Blofeld was a perennial presence in the Bond features and Bond€™s most dastardly antagonist. In the novels, Blofeld and Bond became entangled in a deadly cat-and-mouse game that ended in a Samurai sword fight to the death. The movie version of Blofeld is the stuff of movie legend, so flamboyant and over-the-top that many of his quirks have become synonymous with super villainy. Before Sony Pictures announced the cast list, the Internet swirled with speculation that two-time Academy Award winning actor Christoph Waltz would play the super villain made famous by Donald Pleasance in You Only Live Twice. After his Oscar-winning turn as Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds, Waltz seemed like a perfect fit for the role. Unfortunately, Sony announced Waltz will play a character named Oberhauser in Spectre. There could still be hope that Waltz will play Blofeld. Oberhauser could be an alias Blofeld has assumed to throw Bond (as well as Bond fans) off his scent. Hopefully, this is the case. Bond fans ask €“ nay we demand €“ Blofeld takes his rightful place at the head of the Spectre. We will be satisfied with nothing less. There's our list. Anything we missed? Would these Bond hallmarks ruin Spectre? Let us know in the comments.
