2. We’ll See More Of The Adjudicator

Chapter 3 introduces the Adjudicator, a non-binary character played by non-binary actor Asia Kate Dillon. The Adjudicator acts as an arm of the High Table, working under direct orders from the Elder. They show up after John Wick has killed Santino D’Antonio, who was set to ascend to the High Table after the death of his sister, Gianna. The Adjudicator spends the film doling out punishments to anyone who has helped John along his voyage. Think of them as a roving judge in the style of the comic book character, Judge Dredd.

The Adjudicator is portrayed as no-nonsense, seemingly devoid of sympathy, basically a soulless bureaucrat. They are no doubt the most intriguing addition in Chapter 3. Perhaps the next installment will delve more into their history and how they rose to the High Table, or just show us more of them messing up John’s closest allies. A face-off between them and Halle Berry’s Sofia would seem in store if they are still intent on hunting down anyone who has aided John on his journey. No matter what, it’s a great stride for non-binary representation to see such a nuanced character—and in an action flick, no less!
