9 Things To Expect From Lord And Miller's Star Wars Han Solo Movie

4. Mismatched Buddy Antics

For their last three films, Lord and Miller have relied heavily on the old mismatched buddy comedy tropes. In 21 and 22 Jump Street, old enemies Schmidt and Jenko come together, fall out (twice), but patch things up in order to fight a greater adversary; The Lego Movie essentially follows the same model, but with a larger group of ill-suited partners fighting the forces of evil.

Could Disney have selected Lord and Miller as directors because of their particular affinity for the mismatched buddy movie? And could it be that they were hired to direct the Han Solo movie because Disney wanted them to work with another, more iconic mismatched team?

Taking a shot in the dark, it could be that the Han Solo origins movie tells of the beginnings of Han's relationship with Chewbacca, and all the awkward, getting-to-know-each-other antics that may arise from that. It'd certainly make the Jump Street team seem like an ideal fit if Disney were going down the buddy movie route.
