9 Upcoming 2014 Movies That No One Wants To See

8. Pompeii

This is an original film, but only in the sense that it's not derived from any other film in particular. Of course with Paul W.S. Anderson at the helm, you can still be certain that this movie will be derivative as hell. Just so you don't get your Paul Anderson's mixed up: Paul Thomas Anderson is the brilliant auteur of There Will Be Blood. Paul W.S. Anderson is the hack responsible for the Resident Evil franchise. W.S. Anderson is an action director that doesn't know how to film action. His movies are almost always over-indulgent and ugly, and Pompeii looks to continue that trend. The trailer looks like it's promoting a History Channel special on Mt. Vesuvius, with special effects that don't even look good enough for the 90s. It may star Game of Thrones' Kit Harrington, but it's highly unlikely that his name alone will draw a crowd.
