3. Transformers 4
This entry is likely to have adversaries, since the Transformers franchise is still putting up good numbers at the box office. Transformers: Dark of the Moon took in $300 million in the US despite being a practically unwatchable eye sore. But it's become fairly accepted at this point that Transformers is only making money because it's easy entertainment if you're bored in the summer. No need to follow the plot; just watch robots smash each other for 2.5 hours. It doesn't matter if the action is so claustrophobic that you can't tell who's punching who. It's just robots. Yay robots! Even with Mark Wahlberg joining the cast in a lead role, though, I'm optimistic that people have finally gotten sick of the same old crap from Michael Bay. These movies don't distinguish themselves from each other very well, and a fourth film will likely be exactly the same as the previous installments. You may see Transformers 4 when it comes out purely because you have nothing else to do on that particular day. But think about it, right now, do you know anybody who is genuinely excited about a fourth Transformers? Like, actually counting down the days until it's here?
