9 Upcoming 2014 Movies That No One Wants To See

2. Godzilla

godzilla_2560x1600_v3_880x440 What else is there to do with Godzilla? The 1998 update with Matthew Broderick basically did all we can do with the material. Godzilla is a giant lizard, and we need big weapons to kill it. Nobody's going to form a thoughtful connection with Godzilla; he's not going to fall in love with a beautiful woman like King Kong. There's just nothing else there to do with him. Godzilla would have a better chance of generating interest if it weren't for a little film from this past summer called Pacific Rim. Pacific Rim was essentially a movie about a whole race of Godzilla's attacking the entire planet. To fight them, we built enormous man-powered robots capable of punching the monsters in the face. That is awesome. What can Godzilla give us that Pacific Rim didn't already recently? On top of that, Pacific Rim had a very tough time at the box office, floundering in the US only to be saved by massive overseas numbers. If an awesome movie about monster-punching robots can't get butts in the seats, what's an ordinary old military vs. Godzilla movie going to do?
