8. Most Of The Pokémon Are Just Fan Service Cameos - Pokémon: Detective Pikachu

As hilarious as Detective Pikachu looks from its spectacular first trailer, Warner Bros. truly is going all-in on the fan service to the point that it's a tad suspicious.

The hysterical trailer includes glimpses of the likes of Psyduck, Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Squirtle, Charizard and, terrifyingly, Mr. Mime, though one suspects most of these Pokémon appearances aren't likely to be much more than quick, throwaway cameos.

Beyond Pikachu, it's smart not to get your hopes up that you'll get to see much of any other Pokémon in any real detail, and though that's somewhat understandable given their sheer number, it'd still be nice if at least a few of them got the co-star treatment.

The trailer is edited to imply that the movie will feature significant appearances from many major Pokémon, but in reality they're almost certainly quick cameos at best.
