Tracey Fragments is an odd film. No matter what way you get the film, watching it is a struggle. It's a film filled with difficult things happening, and on top of that, the movie seems almost broken. The film has split screens within split screens and makes a montage out of moments in one characters life, telling a tale in a way that defies the idea of their even being a true chronological order.

And the film was released for free, online. Of course, by the time this movie came out, that wasn't that odd. What was a bit weirder was the creators putting it online in the way that would make it easiest to destroy - to remix - to edit and play with yourself.

The creators then tried encouraged viewers to make their own films and upload them. Eventually some of the best of those remixes were released alongside the original film, again, creating a new work that couldn't exist with almost any other film.
