9 Well Deserved Movie Villain Deaths

7. Tom - The Girl On The Train

In the adaptation of The Girl on the Train, Justin Theroux’s character Tom is a perfect villain for a protagonist who we cannot trust.

As Emily Blunt plays the unreliable narrator Rachel, we’re initially lead to believe that she is the instigator of all her past troubles and her collapsed marriage was a result of her alcohol abuse.

After the film's second act, the sinister side to Tom is revealed and we learn he not only abused and manipulated his ex-wife but has been lying and deceiving his current wife and mistress.

Tom is revealed to be an abusive monster who covers up his infidelity with desperate murder or physical abuse.

It’s fitting that Tom receives justice for the murder of his pregnant mistress, but the emotional connection we feel comes from the torment he caused Rachel and his current wife Anna played by Rebecca Ferguson.

There’s something to be said about him meeting his end with a corkscrew to the neck, especially since the person who impales it into his throat is a woman he drove to alcoholism to begin with. For a character who was so charming at first, it's really rewarding to see him squirm now.

Speaking of gaslighting d***heads...

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
