It's safe to say very few people will disagree with this one.

A movie hated by nearly everyone, On Stranger Tides is the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film. Dead Man's Chest and At World's End have been trashed far too much over the years and are actually alright, but this one fully earned the backlash.

On Stranger Tides' main issue is that it's just too bland. There's hardly any good action and humor or pathos are non-existent, making this one of the most indifferent viewing experiences imaginable. Even the crazy psycho killer-mermaids are complete bores.

As for Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow, even he isn't fun to watch anymore in this movie and given that he was being paid an obscene $55 million for the movie, he could've at least put some effort in. Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz is wasted in a dull love interest role and, similarly, in one of his rare film outings TV veteran Ian McShane is stuck playing a very uninspiring Blackbeard.

Speaking of money, this is the most expensive film ever made and cost around $400 million to make. What a terrible waste.
